WhatsReply AI reads incoming WhatsApp notifications on your phone to send auto-replies, and keeps your rules and message history stored locally — it does not use the WhatsApp Business API and does not upload your contacts or full message history to any server. The one exception is AI Replies, which sends the incoming message text to an AI provider to generate a response.
What can WhatsReply AI see on my phone?
WhatsReply AI asks for Notification Access so it can see incoming WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business notifications and reply to them the same way you would — by tapping "Reply" on the notification itself. It does not use the WhatsApp Business API, does not require root access, and does not read your full message history, contacts list content, or any other app's notifications beyond what auto-reply rules and campaigns need to function.
What data stays only on my device?
Your rules, reply history, contact-targeting lists, and campaign logs are stored locally on your phone. We do not upload or store this data on our servers. If you uninstall the app, this data goes with it.
What data is sent to your servers?
Standard replies (keyword rules, menu replies, welcome messages) are handled entirely on your device and never leave it. AI Replies are the one exception: when an AI persona rule fires, the incoming message text is sent to our backend and forwarded to the underlying AI provider (OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude, depending on the persona) to generate a response. We do not store these messages after the reply is generated.
Does the app show ads, and what do they collect?
Watching a rewarded ad to earn +30 free messages is optional. The ad network used to serve that ad may collect device and advertising identifiers under its own privacy policy — we do not control or receive that data.
How are purchases handled?
AI credits are purchased through Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment card details — that is handled entirely by Google.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored rules, history, and contact-targeting lists. To request deletion of anything processed on our backend (such as AI reply logs, if any are temporarily cached for debugging), contact us through the app's Google Play listing.
Does WhatsReply AI collect data from children?
WhatsReply AI is a business/productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Will I be notified if this policy changes?
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
